Course Description
This course is intended to provide the students get skilled aligned to the NSQF framework of Healthcare Sectror Skill Council, MSDE, GOI.
The individual trained shall be able to provide patient’s daily care, patient’s comfort, patient’s safety and and understand usage of protecting devices and demonstrate precautions to be taken while usage of equipments and assistive devices. They will also be able to work in collaboration with Doctors and Nurses and other healthcare providers and deliver the healthcare services as suggested by them. They will also be groomed to demonstrate basic patient care skills, communication Skills, ethical behaviour and should be Empathetic.

Course Coverage
- 1. Basic Structure and function of Human body - Overview of Anatomy and Physiology
- 2. Bedside Hygiene and Aid.
- 3. Assist nurse in bathing patient, in grooming and dressing the patient.
- 4. Assist patient to eat and drink, in maintaining normal elimination
- 5. Transport patient patient within the hospital, samples, drugs, patient documents and manage changing and transporting laundry/linen on the floor
- 6. Assist nurse in performing procedures as per the care plan and in observing and reporting change in patient condition, in measuring patient parameters accurately
- 7. Responding to patient’s call and Prevent and control infection, Clean medical equipment under supervision
- 8. Understand Nutrition and Dietetics need of patients
- 9. Introduction to Basic First Aid
- 10. Special care of certain categories of patients.
- 11. Introduction to the ageing, Ageing process and carry out last office and Mortuary Management
- 12. Practice Code of conduct while performing duties. Biomedical waste disposal protocols and Maintaining safe, healthy and secure environment
