My health, my right Celebrating World Health Day
6th April 2024
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities. World Health Day is a significant event in the global health calendar. The theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, my right'. This theme aims to highlight the importance of everyone's right to access health services, education and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions and freedom from discrimination. It's a powerful reminder that health is a fundamental human right and one that deserves to be protected and promoted and the crucial role of healthcare clinics, pharmacies and hospitals in recruiting skilled resources in workforce to meet the the need for accessible and affordable healthcare for everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. At our academy, we believe that skilling students for careers in healthcare is an essential step towards achieving this goal.
At our Skill Development Academy, we are proud to be part of this effort, providing training and certification for students who wish to pursue careers as phlebotomists, patient care attendants, clinical research associates and pharmacy assistants.
Phlebotomists, for example, play a critical role in the healthcare system, collecting blood samples for laboratory analysis and ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses. Our phlebotomy program provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in this field, including anatomy and physiology, infection control and patient care.
Patient care attendants, on the other hand, provide essential support to patients in hospitals and other healthcare settings. They assist with daily living activities, monitor patient vital signs and provide emotional support to patients and their families. Our patient care attendant program covers topics such as communication skills, patient rights and safety procedures.
Clinical research associates are responsible for managing clinical trials and ensuring that they meet regulatory standards. This is a critical role in the development of new drugs and treatments and our clinical research associate program provides students with the skills they need to succeed in this field, including data management, study design and regulatory affairs.
Pharmacy assistants play a vital role in the pharmacy setting, assisting pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of medications, managing inventory and providing customer service. Our pharmacy assistant program covers topics such as pharmacology, medication safety and customer service.
At our skill academy, we are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and training, using state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping students achieve their career goals, providing individualized attention and support throughout the training process.
In addition to our classroom training, we also provide students with opportunities for hands-on experience, including on the job trainings at local healthcare clinics, pharmacies and hospitals. This provides students with valuable real-world experience and helps them to build their professional networks.
As we celebrate World Health Day 2024, we are proud to be part of the effort to bridge the gap in healthcare and provide accessible and affordable healthcare for all. By skilling students for careers in healthcare, we are helping to build a stronger and more resilient healthcare system, one student at a time.
